Memorial Weekend - Kamp Kinnersley

Summer 2010 officially started this Memorial Weekend with our (well what's becoming) annual trip to Kamp Kinnersley (aka Malad, ID). The weather was cold at times but luckily it only sprinkled (lightly!!) on Saturday. The rest of the weekend was quite nice actually. We shot guns.
The only time I have ever shot a gun was after Chris's dad died and we were cleaning out the house and were gathering all his hunting guns. Chris let me shoot the B.B. gun at a broken door. This weekend I shot a 22 pistol. I must admit I was a great shot for a first timer!
I kinda like it!!
John celebrated his 35th birthday on Sunday.
Happy Birthday JAVIER!!
You can't tell the girls liked the cupcakes can you?
I have NO idea what they were all looking at, but it's kinda funny!
Chris and Cody
I haven't seen Cody is YEARS. Same old Cody!

It was a little cold Saturday!Ask Chris about shooting Cody's bow. Go ahead, ask him! This was Abby's first camping trip. She did GREAT. She slept like a champ and just hung out really. She made it pretty easy.
Thanks Kinnersley Family for having us up!!

You Make Do With What You Have!

On Tuesday night I had a facial in SLC, so rather than driving all the way back to Layton late at night with the girls, just to wake up early and drive back into SLC, I spent the night at my mom's. Well a full size bed doesn't fit a grown-up, a 3yr old and a 6 month old very comfortably and isn't really the makings for a restful night sleep. So instead I improvised. Anna and I slept in the bed and Abby...well see photo below!!!
Yes, it's a dogs bed!! It was brand new, still had the tag on!! It was soft and plush and she fit right in. She actually slept really, really well in it!!

Hey, when getting a good nights sleep is at stake...you make do with what you have!

Sunday at the Zoo

Spring poked its pretty little head just long enough for us to enjoy a Sunday afternoon at the zoo. The following week it snowed!! But at least we got a nice day in before the weather turned.

Anna just had to ride on the GiraffeGrandma and Jodi

Steph, Will, Colby and Shawn.
The boys NEVER want their pictures taken.
Good thing I'm quick!

Gee, you can't see me hiding can you??
Thanks for arranging the zoo day Steph!!

Race for the Cure 2010

Today we participated in the RACE FOR THE CURE.
We walked under the team "DEBBIE'S DOLLS"

Angie lost her mom Debbie to breast cancer a month after I lost my dad. So today we walked in her memory. What an emotional day it was! I'm so glad I was able to go and support Angie. She's been such a good friend these past few years. I'm very blessed to have her in my life!
I cannot believe how many people were there. I knew there would be a lot, but I was so not prepared for the sea of people. We overheard someone say they were estimated 20,000 people participated today.

After the walk we went to lunch at Applebee's.
No pics of lunch but I did manage to get Anna and Abby while they sampled a lemon slice!

Dream Building

I had the opportunity to attend a Mary Kay marketing meeting at our National Sales Director, Tammy Crayk's house. Oh man, this house was beautiful!

Here's a quick breakdown:
*8000sq ft home up at the mouth of the Cottonwood canyons.
*A customer built movie theater room with a separate concession stand (as in a real candy counter and real popcorn machines!)
*I sat at her desk, in her chair and just imagined what it would be like.
*I saw a picture of her standing next to Oprah, arms around each other!
*I saw an autographed picture from TOM CRUISE in TOP GUN.
*Her husband's office was filled with autographed sports memorabilia (Chris would have loved all the Raiders stuff!)
*Her Mary Kay car is a 2010 Hybrid Escalade
*A Jaguar. My jaw was dropped too far to even ask what year/model it was. All I know is that when she said "it's unlocked, go sit in it", I grabbed Erica and said "TAKE MY PICTURE FOR MY DREAM BOARD"

But it's not just about the material things. It's about being a great role model for my daughters and showing them that if you have a dream, no matter how big, if you work hard enough your dreams will come true.

I'm so glad I became a Mary Kay consultant. I look at the fabulous women MK has brought into my life, and I realize how blessed I am.

Yep, I'm a goober. I totally sat in the car!

Erica at THE Escalade!
Looks good doesn't it?

6 Months

I cannot believe Abby is already 6 months old! She's growing up so fast and getting so big (C.H.U.N.K.Y!!) Here are some facts about Abby:

1. At 7:30pm each night, she turns into an Ogre. Chris calls her Fiona. You know it's getting close to bedtime because she "Hulks Out" and gets fussy.

2. She has a few nicknames already: Crabby Abby and Fussy Gus. Or just "Gus". I seem to call her that more that "Abby". She's my Gus!

3. She sleeps GREAT! She goes down at about 8pm'ish and sleeps until 6:00am'ish, only to wake for a bottle and back to bed. She is great with our morning schedules for getting ready for work.

4. She puts EVERYTHING she can in her mouth. Anna was never really like this. But Abby, if she can lift it or reach it, it's slobbered on before you know it!

5. She loves her dad. This girl, she has something special for Chris. She is definitely a daddy's girl!

6. She loves Anna. She is always laughing and smiling at her (Anna adores her too).

My New Director

I have to give congratulations to my gal Erica on her HUGE accomplishment in Mary Kay!
Erica is a NEW Mary Kay DIRECTOR and she just qualified for her first Mary Kay car! Erica started Mary Kay in May 2009 and just one short year later she has reached these huge milestones. She has worked so hard. I wish I had her work ethic and drive. I'm super excited to see where she takes our team. ERICA'S EAGLES!!
AND it makes me so motiviated to know that we both started with the same welcome kit so there is no reason that one year from today I can't be a director in my new car!!
In fact, I promised Abby for her 1st birthday I would be home!! That's a promise I didn't make lightly and one I will keep. You can't break a promise to your kids right!?!?

April Birthday's

I never posted a birthday thread for Chris...but he turned the big 36 on April 25.
We celebrated by going to dinner at Boston's. Which was AWESOME!!Jason Kinnersley's birthday was next. As always, they made great BBQ food and Angie baked the YUMMIEST cake. Seriously, that woman can bake!!It dawned on us that when the girls get older, we will have 6 teenagers at once!!!
Anna, Kaylee, Avva, Alle, Abby & Baby Cortney (??) (who is due in August and not at all following in the "A" or "K" name tradition!!)I hope they are as good as friends then as they are now!
Grandma Marva as Anna calls her
Erica & Autumn
Chris & Big Chris
Little Alle, whose not so little anymore with Abby around and Baby Kinnersley on the way!

Bears Get Pampered Too!

Bear got her Spring haircut! I was getting so tired of vacuuming twice a week and finding mounds and mounds of her fur everywhere! I really hope this helps. She definitely smells better! This is the collar my friend Soma (Dave) made. It's stamped with bears on each side and has her name cut into the leather. I love it!

Now where is Holly's collar you ask? Well Holly likes to...well she sometimes...okay. I'll say it. She likes to smear in dog poop! So I wasn't about to pay to have a nice collar made for her where she'd ruin in it doggie poo! So she gets the regular fabric ones instead.
