Stay Classy San Diego

We packed up my mom and the RV and took a trip week long trip down to San Diego a couple weeks back. Of course NO road trip can be started without a stop at the gas station in Filmore for a Charleston Chew. It's tradition. I've done it on every road trip we've taken since I was a little kid since my parents always stop for gas in Filmore.Anna did a pretty good job on the ride down. We headed to Vegas for a night to split the drive up.
The Mayweather boxing fight was that night, so it was super crowded. Nothing like driving an RV down the strip!
~Hanging in Vegas~
No matter was limitations they put on smoking in the casinos, they still stink and smell stale.

On Sunday we arrived in San Digeo. Chula Vista to be exact. According to John (who came by for a visit) it's the "Rose Park" of San Diego. The KOA we stayed in was very nice though.

~First stop~
San Diego Zoo

The coast temps were in the low-mid 80's. The weather was great this first day. A little humid for me but not too hot at all.
I haven't been to the S.D. zoo in ages, I forgot how green and luscious it was.Grandma & Anna

Me and my mom. Nice hair huh? Blame the humidity!

Sea World
Anna playing in Elmo land
And what would Sea World be without Shamu?

Petting the sting rays. Which by the way is a lot more fun if you buy the little dead fish to feed them!
Anna was carried out of Sea World, turned and said "goodbye Sea World" and immediately fell asleep on Chris's shoulders! She had a busy day!Hanging in the motor home after swimming

Wild Animal Kingdom
Now remember I said coastal temps were mid 80's. This day, inland it was 105°! HOT. Now if you've been to the Wild Animal Kingdom you know it's set up to be like the African desert. What's the environment like in the African desert? HOT with little to NO SHADE!! Now being 34 week pregnant I don't think I complained that much. But damn it was HOT.
The belly is pretty close!Mom & ChrisMe & Mom
Okay there was a "little" shade. But only at the front of the park!
~Stop #4~
Universal Studios
L.A. is a lot further north from San Diego than we thought. Add in L.A. traffic and freeway construction and you've got yourself a 3 hour drive!! The people at the KOA didn't give the best directions (I saw NO signs). Luckily I have a friend in L.A. who was able to give backstreet directions and get us there in one piece!

Grandma and Anna on the way home
On the way back to SLC we once again stopped in Vegas for the night. This time we got caught up coming in behind what we believe was Britney Spear's tour set.
Everyone has always raved about In-N-Out Burger. So the whole vacation I kept saying how we needed to eat there. Hum. Really? I don't get what all the fuss is about. You have 3 burger options. Double. With cheese. Without cheese. What's so special about that? Sure the buns are toasted, but that's about the only thing that really made it stick out in my mind as "different". Well now I can say I've tried it.

November 2nd will be here before we know it!!

I have just 7 weeks and two days left before little Abigail enters this world. SEVEN WEEKS??? How can 33 weeks have gone by so fast? I'm sure the next 7 weeks will just crawl!

Well actually it will be 6 weeks that crawl since we are going to San Diego for a week and you just know how fast vacations fly by!!

How funny is this picture?
The belly got in the way of the picture I was taking of Anna.
And for those of you wondering why my meter to the left doesn't match my calculations, I'm having a planned Cesarean a week before my actual due date (which changes with EVERY appt) since my doctor will be in the Galapagos Islands for 2 weeks!!

I'm no Obama fan, but...

...but this quilt is awesome!

My coworker Cory is HUGE into quilting and this is a project she submitted this weekend for some big quilt show going on in Salt Lake. I can't tell you how long it's taken her, but I know she's been working on it since the inauguration.

End of summer luau

Josh and Virginia threw a BIG end of summer luau on Saturday. They roast a whole pig in the backyard and invited most of Davis County!! We missed the actual roasting of the pig since Chris wanted to finish watching some crime show on one of those weird stations you get with the new digital convertor box. Yeah, priorities! But that's okay, because there was a TON of food left and lots of fun to be had!
Chris and Josh playing DJ. I told Josh his current music selection sucked (it was something like Sara McLaughlin playing...NOT party music). So the boys started DJ'ing.Brian and Virginia

Me and Anna (and her super cheesy grin) Anna always manages to find friends wherever she goes

Two down, one to go!

Happy 3rd birthday Kaylee!!

I'm glad my little apron/cook set was such a hit with her!!How stinkin' cute is this picture of Erica and Alle??
I don't know how she did it, but Avva managed to put most of this cupcake in her mouth...at one time!!
Next up, Avva's 3rd birthday in December!

A Lazy Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend brought some much needed rest and relaxation. I've got just 9 weeks left before little Abby joins us, so Anna and I spent the whole weekend together while Chris went camping in Malad with Big Chris.

I shopped my feet sore on Saturday at Swiss Days in Midway. It's kind of a family tradition that I go with my mom and sister each year. And of course as part of that tradition my sister will always buy items that are A) hard to carry, B) cause bodily injury if passersby aren't careful and C) make fitting in the car a fun game. But it wouldn't be tradition without her purchases!! I found some great decorations and an awesome car seat cover/nursing cover combo.

On Sunday, Anna and I took advantage of the lazy day. We rented movies, got take out and enjoyed the nice night.

Chalk body tracing

I told her draw a face on this one. How stinking cute is that?
The lines coming out of the side of the head...her pony tails!!

And these would be fingers!

I also managed to get the crib set up, the car seats cleaned and the covers washed. Just 9 weeks left until little Abby is here. I feel so unprepared, but also so ready to meet her!!

Game On!

I really don't need to say much do I?
