Day 2 - Abilities

Abilities
Interesting topic.

I have the ability to completely disregard any rational thinking about eating healthy and losing weight by stopping off at Kneaders on my way into work and picking up some CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST! Man it's good. TOO good.

Seriously though. I like to think I have the ability to make people laugh. I'm a natural smart ass. My morning audience consists of two 1st first graders, and a 5th and 6th grader. There are some days they leave the car laughing their little heads off. Okay so making kids laugh isn't that hard, but you've gotta take the laughs when you can get them right?!

Day 1 - My Body

I totally giggled when I typed the title of my first GRATITUDE post.

My body. MY body. What to be thankful for. Oh let's see, I started thinking "oh the muffin top, the chunky thighs..." then I stopped myself.

What I should, and AM thankful for is:
  • That my body allowed me to bring two beautiful, healthy babies into this world
  • That my body allows me to work so that I can contribute to my family
  • That my body allows me to be physical, to run with Bear, to ride my bike with the kids, to hike with Chris and to walk on warm fall evenings
  • That my body is healthy and free from major illnesses
So I should stop focusing so much on what I don't like about my body, and will try to focus on all the positive things I have.

*I'm still giggling!

30 Days of Gratitude

November 1st marks the first day "30 DAYS OF GRATITUDE!".

I got the idea from my fun neighbor Shari. You can read more about her at: http://www.doohikeydesignstudio.com/ She's crafty and creative and has one of THE best attitudes I've known, so here's my chance to learn from her!

Now I can't promise I'll be able to post to my blog EVERY.SINGLE.DAY, but I will try my best to keep my blog updated as the days go by.

I hope you enjoy following my journey!

Four years?

I cannot believe it has already been four years since my dad's passing. It doesn't seem like it's been that long at all. I can remember so much of him so clearly when I close my eyes. His little dance, the feel of his hands, his fuzzy head, the way he'd smile when he saw the grandkids.

Man I miss him!

So on Halloween, in his memory I will...

A little bit of August

 August came and went...
Anna turned SIX! Holy cow my little girl is growing up fast!!

And of course no 6 year old girls birthday party is complete without the AVENGERS!

I promised myself I would never let my young girls wear a 2 piece swim suit. Well when your child has misplaced her one piece and grown out of the other TWO swimsuits from the previous year and it's the morning of her birthday and she's so upset that she has NO swimsuit to wear...well you really just have to pick your battles sometimes!

Where have you been?

It's been a busy summer.

Here's a look into how we spent the first part of our summer!

Anna graduated Kindergarten!

We visited with old friends

Anna had her dance recital at Weber State University.

We spent a lot of time at Lagoon

We went camping at Mirror Lake.
The Anna LOVES to fish with her dad. Abby likes to throw rocks!!
Abby got a big girl bed!

To Blog Or Not To Blog?

Seems like everything I would normally post here, I post on Facebook. So the question is...do I continue to blog? Does anyone really want to read the thoughts of a mid-30's, mother of 2 who works full time and tries to keep her sanity?

I'm not crafty and I don't make things.
I really don't cook, and when I do it's not really anything that interesting that I'd feel the need to post about it. Does anyone really need another recipe for meat loaf?

I kept a blog as a way to keep up with friends. But some friends have closed their blogs, and that means I don't get to blog stock their friends anymore (rude huh!)

What if I tell you there is a chance we could be moving to Idaho? Would that be interesting enough to blog about? (it has do with Chris's job, no reason to raise the MOVING flag yet ladies, it's just a whisper in the corporate world at EHI. A few months back we whispered about St. George. Now we're whispering about SE Idaho).

So to blog or not to blog...that is MY question.
