WE'RE PREGNANT!!

Due in early November!

It was a total shock! We went to the doctor's expecting to talk about getting more aggressive with our fertility treatments and instead the nurse tells us we're pregnant. The conversation went a little something like this:

Nurse: well I know why you haven't had your period since January. You're pregnant!
Chris: blank stare
Me: No, I took a test a week ago and it was negative.
Nurse: well...I just did a test and you're positive
Me: No, I don't believe you. No way. Can I have a blood test or something?
Nurse: blank stare

But the doctor confirmed it with an ultrasound and sure enough! Little Jr. is in there!! I'm only an estimated 7 weeks along so we'll get our exact weeks and due date at our appointment in a week.

Rest easy my friend

This week my online community (OZ) lost one of our greatest friends, Jkay (Dolly). She fought a brave battle against cancer. Cancer may have taken her body, but it will never take her spirit. You will be sorely missed.

Has Spring Arrived??

You wouldn't think so by how cold it is today and the chance of snow we have coming this week, but Saturday was NICE and WARM. Chris pulled out the lounge chairs and we relaxed in the sun while Anna and the animals ran wild in the backyard. I cannot wait for our real Spring to kick in so we can get out and play some more!!

Croccus means SPRING!!

Who's a BIG DOG??

Even Fatty was outside enjoying the nice weather.

Thoughts about Anna

Anna is growing up way too fast! Although the TERRIBLE TWO'S seems to test my patience and parenting skills, and the end of the day I'm blessed to have such a sweet little girl. She loves to play, loves her movies, loves animals and loves to have her picture taken with Daddy. The minute I pull my camera out she grabs Chris's head, puts her little face right up next to his and gives the cutest "CHEESE"!!

There is a great little park just down the street from our house. I needed a long walk and Anna needed to get all her stored up energy out. I'm amazed that this kid had NO fear. She climbed everything, went down the tallest slide and would say "I'll be careful Mom". I just sat in awe and watched her play.

Getting into trouble!

Anna can get into anything, anywhere without anyone's help! I'm amazed at how smart and creative she is. Who teaches them this stuff?

Meanwhile, Bear has decided to take up occupancy in Anna's princess castle.

Moving Day...again!

My sister is no stranger to moving. In fact we counted that since approx 1992, she's moved 13 times! However this time there is a little positive in the move. My sister is getting divorced and moving back in with my mom. Is this the positive part you ask? Well yes the divorce is part of it of the positive...but also my mom is a tad lonely since my dad passed away. So with my sister and her 3 daughters setting up camp, we think it will help my mom out a little.
Bear on the ride
Yes there are 5 dogs in this picture. And that doesn't even count Bear! She was outside.

Will was taking a breather and the neighbors dog decided to make herself at home on his lap.

My Real Simple Moment

I saw this in my April edition of Real Simple magazine. I thought it was great.

"What I expect from my male friends is that they are polite and clean. What I expect from my female friends is unconditional love, the ability to finish my sentences for me when I am sobbing, a complete and total willingness to pour their hearts out to me, and the ability to tell me why the meat thermometer isn't supposed to touch the bone." - Anna Quindlen, Living Out Loud

My little Angelina

Some people pay good money to have their lips plumped up. Not in the Perkins house!!

For the top lip, I recommend slamming a stool into your lip. A little blood and a couple tears...but look at the fullness!! For the bottom lip, I recommend attempting to put a toy hat on a beagle as she tries to hide a rawhide bone under the couch. Bug her, say, 3 times and she turns, a quick snip on the lip, and WALLA! A pouty smile you can call your own!!
**bottom picutre slightly altered by saying "give me kissy lips for effects"

March seeds brings April flowers??

I decided to try my luck at starting spring flowers with seeds. My sister Steph bought this little kit for me and they are already starting to sprout. These below are forget-me-nots, sweet peas, cherry rose, cosmos and zinnia's flowers. I also want to start some cascade petunia's.

If all goes well this second seed kit will grow to be tomatoes, carrots, peppers, cucumbers and cilantro. We have huge corner area in our backyard that the previous homeowners had as a vegetable garden. So once the weather is more stable and Perk gets my fence up, I'm hoping to transplant and watch them grow!
