Spring City

Chris let me do a little 4-wheeling in the Jeep on the trail leading to Skyline Drive. It was a pretty easy trail, but had enough rocks and dips for me to get a feel of the Jeep.

Anna put on my flip-flops and was walking around like Frankenstein

Chris's grandparents bought an old Mormon settlers home in Spring City, UT, it was originally built in the 1800's. They completely restored it a few years back. It has a great wrap around porch and is a perfect little country home. It's such a "country city" that I actually saw people driving around with kids on their laps. No way could you get away with that here in SLC. Oh, and they drive to church on their 4-wheelers!!
That is a huge garage his grandfather built to the right.

Guilty pleasures

I "borrowed" this recipe from KUTV's recipe posts.

Strawberry Cupcakes

1 box vanilla cake mix, prepare as directed
2 pints strawberries
2 ½ tsp strawberry extract
1 can vanilla frosting
½ cup blueberries
Prepare cake mix as directed, adding eggs and oil as per cake mix directions.
Stir in 1 ½ teaspoons of strawberry extract, and stir in 1 pint strawberries, sliced and cut into bite size pieces.
Bake cupcakes as directed.
Add 1 teaspoon strawberry extract into store bought vanilla frosting.
Frost cupcakes and top with remaining strawberries and blueberries for decoration.

Tip of the week: take shower curtains like this and hang in your closet. Use for belts and purses. Brilliant!!

The Legacy Better Be Worth The Wait!

Legacy is set to open September 13th and not a day too soon!
I left work at 5:30pm today, drove straight into Davis County and ended up getting off at 2600. No worries I thought, I'll take the east bench road in Bountiful through Centerville. I make GREAT time. However every road (main st., frontage & I-15) from Centerville into Farmington was at a crawl. I thought I was going to run out of gas! I finally pulled up to the house at about 7:00pm.
OH and I thought I had a 12 gal tank...I put 13 gallons in!!

Birthday Party

We had a great day on Saturday with Anna's birthday party. Lots of family and friends to officially welcome her to the TERRIBLE TWO'S!

Chris didn't realize you're suppose to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the birthday girl BEFORE cutting and dishing it out. Luckily I walked in the house just as he started cutting and yelled "What the heck are you doing?"

She got a horse and dog first (her favorites) so the rest of the gifts she wasn't quite interested in opening. Good thing there were plenty of other kids who loved opening presents! We had a water party for the kids. The pool was filled at the bottom of the slide, which all the kids loved. But I think the bigger kids (aka Big Chris & Perk) loved the water balloons more!

As much as Virginia says no to kids, she was a natural holding baby Alle.

We've officially entered the TERRIBLE TWOS!

Happy Birthday little Anna!

I surprised Anna this morning with this cute little shopping stroller. She packed all her babies in it and pushed it around the kitchen all morning.

I took her to get her pictures taken at Kiddie Kandid's this morning. I was warned about how hard it would be to get a 2yr old to sit still! It sure took a lot of effort of the gal at the KK, but she did great with Anna and we got some adorable pictures.

After we went and walked the mall. I got Anna her usual Orange Julius (it's my bribe to say "hey, stay content in this stroller while mommy window shops"). We are in Famous Footwear and I'm adoring these cute floral slip on shoes (that were only $10!!) and I hear "Mommy, help me. Mommy, help me". I look over and Anna has spilled her entire Orange Julius all over her lap and all over the stroller. I had two napkins on me and a couple wet wipes. It barely did the trick. Thank goodness we already did pictures and were on our way out. And no, I didn't buy the shoes.
