Memorial Weekend...with a side of rain!

We were invited to spend Memorial weekend at the Kinnersley Camp in Malad. Although it rained a good 72% of the time, we still had a fantastic time! Chris and Erica have the best set-up at their place; lots of room for the kids and dogs to run around and lots of cover to stay dry with. We took my parents motor home up and it worked out great. Bear loved playing with the other dogs, Anna loved playing with her little friends, Chris got to hang with the guys all weekend and I got hang with my girls.
Bear loved playing in the stream. She was pretty dirty by the time we came home. She loved playing with Buster.
John Bryant. I haven't seen him in years. He's the exact same.John, Big Chris and Jon
Jason and Rich

There were a bunch of horses to the side that the girls loved seeing.
Saturday started out pretty nice. It was warm enough that Erica got the kiddie pool out and was warming it up in the sun. Well while the sun was warming the water, the girls climbed in...FULLY DRESSED!! Pants, shoes and all!Eventually the diapers came off as did the rest of the clothes.

All Bear wanted to do ALL WEEKEND was have the ball thrown to her. We bought a ball chucker and she had so much fun running after it and chasing it down. She's the best camp dog!

A little family update

Anna will be 3 in August and I cannot believe the little person she has become. She is smart and funny and kind. Here are a couple of her favorite things:
*
1. She LOVES fruit. Especially grapes and banana's. She would gladly have a piece of fruit over a piece of candy any day. I admire her for this.
*
2. She loves watching Scooby Doo. And not the cartoon, the actual movie with Sarah Michelle Geller/Freddie Prince Jr. Aunt Stephy sent it home with her and she's watched it so much she pretty much tells you the story as you watch it with her. Oh and she does the funniest "Scooby, Doobie Doo" face!
*
3. She loves to play outside. Climbing, running, swinging, it doesn't matter. She is like her dad. Anything outside and she's there.
*
4. She's my soul mender. Anytime I am feeling down or sad thinking about my dad, she comes up, hugs me and wipes my tears and tells me I'll be okay. She's a 3yr old with an old soul.
*
5. She loves to get her own drinks/food. She'll get out the cereal, the milk, a bowl and a spoon and if I'm not quick enough, she'll try to pour her own milk!
*
6. She loves to help me out. Feeding the dogs has become her chore.
*
7. She has eyes like Chris. She can spot an animal/balloon/sign a mile away. I'm trying to train her to spot the cops on Legacy Highway!
*
8. She loves her friends. She's always saying she wants to go swimming with Kaylee, Alle, Avva, Erica, Big Chris and Jason. She repeats their names in that order over and over until I agree. She loves to play with the neighbor girl and will keep up with any kid of any age.
*
9. She LOVES to sing. She will sing a trio of ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle and Itsy Bitsy Spider. She even puts a little twang on it.
*
10. She LOVES to dance. Anything she can dance or shake her booty too, she will.
*
11. She is a tease. She will tease you until you're laughing out loud.
*
12. Barbies have become her favorite toys. She plays with her cousin Haylee's Barbie house. She sets up the entire thing and will make 2 Barbie's have conversations with each other.

Percolator update
13 weeks and counting
Everything is going great with my pregnancy. The morning sickness and fatigue have lightened up and the belly is starting to stick out. My doctor tried to figure out the sex at our appointment last week but it was just a tad too early. Our next appointment in 4 weeks should be the big reveal! I'm so excited!
It looks like a little alien with a big brain.

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day we headed to the zoo after Chris made us a great breakfast. I thought it wouldn't be that busy since A) Mom & Me at the Zoo was on Saturday and B) all the church goers would be in church. Well all the church goers were in church so we got stuck with the...well I'll just say it was a VERY colorful crowd. Chris was standing in line and commented that he couldn't believe the conversations he was hearing.

Here is a quick summary of what we saw:
1. LOTS of teen moms! It was like a Bristol Palin-Jamie Lynn Spears high school reunion.

2. A lot of very over weight people. Good for them for walking the zoo but 300+lb, 60yr old women should NOT wear belly shirts!

3. I actually saw a girl, probably no older than 12, get on the scale by the elephants and it read 184! 12yrs old and she weighs 184? What on earth is wrong with her parents???

4. Meth mouths (if you've ever seen anyone who does/did Meth, you know what this means).

5. A lot of people who seem to wander around with no goals, no dreams, no ambitions. It's really quite sad because "it's never to late to be what you might have been".
***
We still had a great time. Just watching Anna was the best part of all. She walked that zoo from start to finish and never once pooped out.

Moab Part 2

We stopped for lunch at Top of the World. I think Bear likes Josh.

Just a sample of what we had to drive up.
Josh rallied his Jeep up the slick rock by our camp site. Show off!!
We drove a fun little trail into the back of Arches National Park

Three Nuns
The great thing about having the top off the Jeep, you can look straight up and see the amazing sights!

On Sunday we drove up Little Lions Back again. This time I stayed in the Jeep. There was a fun little puddle at the end.
We decided to do a short trail called Fins & Things on Sunday. It was a fun trail full of challenging hills!
I love this picture of ChrisMe and Virginia
This section of the trail had one very steep climb down. It's amazing how simple the pictures make it look. But when you are standing there, you can really feel the adrenaline rushing even if you're just watching.
Hiking the Power Dam
The dogs LOVED playing in the river
