Winter Lockdown

This winter has sucked. And by sucked I mean it can take a flying leap off the tallest platform and take a giant nosedive into hell! Seriously, I don't remember it being so damn cold and miserable!

We've been on lock down since mid December. It's too cold outside and someone is always sick. One person gets over it and another family member wakes up coughing.

Snow. Snow and it's so cold it won't melt.
CURSE YOU SNOW!!

Chris has been sick since December. He started out with a cold, shot right into full flu mode and is now stuck with a never ending cold. He had one week where he felt good and now he's back to being sick. He's missed more work in the past month due to illness than the first FIVE years at his job. In fact I even tried to get him into see our regular Dr. today, and he is booked out for TWO WEEKS with patients and the flu. Damn flu!

Even poor Abby has been hit with it. She has bronchitis. She's a trooper but dealing with a sick toddler is like trying to tame a possessed creature from the black lagoon!!

We did have one week that we all felt good so look who came over for dinner! Little Emma Wheatley. This kid is cute. Even in the "I'm about to cry so stop taking pictures" face she pulled, she's still cute. Seriously cute! Made me think of having another for about 2 minutes. Then Anna and Abby acted out at dinner, Anna fell and the stool landed on her head, Abby would only eat bologna...and the 2 minutes I was baby hungry ENDED!!

Of course since we're on house lock down due to the frigid cold, we finally got the basement carpeted and finished and I have a (small) workout room. Of course now that I can actually use it again my treadmill up and died on me. It was an old treadmill anyhow, but now the thought of spending $500 on a new one is just OUCH so I'm doing Pinterest and Jillian Michael's workouts until I get a new one. I love that the minute I get down and get active, my kids follow suit. I'm a chunky monkey and have a goal to wear a sharp little sleeveless dress at my nieces wedding in June. Lots of work to do if I'm going to make my goal. Good thing I've got two of the cutest little cheerleaders rooting me on!!

Oh yes, I've also been doing a little bit of decorating. I found this picture at Hobby Lobby. It's kind of a tan/grey combo. I need to figure out how to match a new shower curtain and rugs to it. So if anyone reading this has ideas..LET ME KNOW!!

I'm trying to eat healthier. My coworker introduced me to the bluelemon restaurant near City Creek. Oh my gosh it's so good and fresh and did I say good? Sometimes I feel I live in a bubble in Layton. We need something like this up north!

So this is pretty much how we've spent January. Locked up in the house. Trying to stay warm. Trying to stay sane despite not being able to stay healthy.
