Happy Thanksgiving!

I have to say little Abby was the hit of Thanksgiving dinner! I think she was only put down for a second and that was while we were eating!! Thanks to my sister Tannia for watching Abby & Anna so Chris and I could go watch the Jazz play on Thanksgiving night. It was our first "date" night out since Abby was born.
Every year Chris and Anna make pies to take to Thanksgiving. This year he made a peach cobbler and fresh apple pie.
For Thanksgiving everyone went to my Mom's house. It was a very nice dinner. My nephew Andy is stationed in Mississippi right now for A.I.T. training so he and my sister did a video conference online so we could see him. If you look at the computer screen in this picture, that's him! ARMY shirt and all!

Larry is actually stationed in Arizona right now for National Guard training, but he was able to come home for Thanksgiving.

The Imagination of a 3 Year Old

This child of mine, such an imagination!!
Anna is always building "houses" so Chris decided to help her "upgrade" to a couch house. She's been in it for about 30 minutes now and shows no signs of relocating.

This morning I woke up to find she had colored on the Children's Place ad. Okay, I know my child is no Michelangelo, but a 3 yr old who traces this good is amazing to me!

Baby Quilt

My coworker made this beautiful quilt for Abby's room.
I actually got the idea from a quilt Erica Kinnersley's mother-in-law made for her. It's so pretty that I really hesitate putting Abby in her bed! I don't want anything to ruin it!If you look closely, you can see how the patterns at the top and bottom are the same, but just different color fabric used. I love it!The back is just as cute as the front!Notice the stitching. She had to hand feed the quilt through the machine to get the "swirl" design. She won't tell me exactly how much time she invested into this, but I know it was a lot. The quilt was made by the same lady who made the Obama quilt I posted about a few months back.

Blog Stalking

I love reading people's blogs. I've gotten some really good ideas off blogs. But I'm finding more and more people are making their blogs private. What's up with that?

One of my favorite blogs to read/stalk recently went private. I loved this blog! The woman has great style and I got some great decorating tips for Abby's nursery off her blog.

So my question is, do I email them and say "Hey, I'm a friend of a friend and I've been reading your blog for about a year now. Can I have access?"

Is that creepy?

~Swoon~

I'm so in love with these two little girls!! ***
Virginia and Josh came over Saturday to visit and brought us dinner.
We always have a great time with them. Thanks again for everything!

Visitors and a Quick Update

I took Abby today to her 4 day discharge check up on her weight. She was down 10% at one time in the hospital but was up to7% when we were discharged. The pediatrician asked that I bring her in to do a check up to make sure she was eating okay and gaining enough weight.

Well I'm happy to say that apparently despite what we once thought, we do know what we're doing when it comes to breast feeding because Abby is 1 ounce short of her birth weight of 7 pounds. YEAH baby girl!! Everything looks good!

Here are pictures of Abby's recent visitors:

My big sister Steph

My neice Jodi. Oldest grandchild (22yrs) with the youngest grandchild (6 days)

Even Anna got some attention

Sara brought us dinner today. It was AWESOME! Thanks Sara!

Welcome Abigail Joy Perkins

We welcomed Abigail Joy to our family on November 5th.
She weighed in at even 7 pounds and was 19 inches long.
She has the perfect amount of hair. Not too bald, not too hairy. She's perfect.

I spent 4 days in the hospital and came home on Sunday. It's nice to be home but man I miss getting room service every day! At McKay Dee Hospital you get to order your meals. None of this "eat what we give you, when we give it to you". You get 3 meals a day, when YOU want and you get to order off a full menu. Man it was nice. Now I'm back to cold cereal and PB&J's!!

The only thing that kind of sucked is because of the flu/cold/H1N1 season, the hospital is pretty much on visitor lock down. You are only allowed 2 visitors the ENTIRE TIME you are in the hospital. So Chris and my mom were the only 2 allowed to visit. Well, I did have a secret 3 visitor, but Angie and I are claiming it was a non-surgical consult she was providing (she's an O.R. nurse, so she "accidentally" took the elevator to the maternity ward).

Anna absolutely loves her little sister. She claims her name is "Baby Abby" and won't let me call her just Abby. Anna also grew up over 4 days. When I left she was my little girl, when I came home she was this little grown up. I know size wise she'd look huge, but overall in general she seems so much older and wiser than when we left. Amazing.

I took this the morning we went to the hospital. What a big belly!!

Getting ready for the big event

These would have been great Halloween costumes! And there she is!I love this picture. It's like she's saying "HEEEYYY" in some sassy Mo'nique sorta voice.I look much better after this birth than when I had Anna. That's the difference between a scheduled c-section and 12 hours of labor!!My "secret" visitor Angie. Who also brought me yummy cupcakes on Saturday. Of which I shared 1 and ate the rest. Man they were good!!Even at 2 days old she knows which team she's rooting for!

In each room they had these cute little stickers above the doors. So cute.

Happy Halloween

Chris always out does me on the pumpkin carving. He carved 2 really good pumpkins this year. (yes, this picture is totally staged)

Chris always out does his Halloween costumes every year too. This year he was a cowboy on a bull. He kind of out shined Anna in her Princess costume while they were trick-or-treating. That's okay, she's just in it for the candy!

I spent about an hour curling her hair. It went flat in about 20 minutes.
Josh and Virginia came over and watched scary movies with us. We watched "The Hills Run Red". I'm not sure they are the horror movie type of couple. Chris loved the show. I thought it was a little too gruesome. Virginia kept telling Chris "Quit jumping!" I don't recommend the movie.
