Moab Easter Jeep Safari Part I

We headed down to Moab for the Annual Jeep Safari. Chris actually went down a few days before the rest of us. He needed a few days of R&R and was able to secure us a great camp spot at Ken's Lake for the motor home & tents.

Autumn and I went down on Thursday and we immediately headed to Slick Rock to do some hiking. Josh & Virginia and Bryan & Krista came Thursday night.

FRIDAY TRAIL: Kane Creek
On Friday we all ran the Kane Creek Trail.

So we're maybe 15 minutes into our trail and suddenly we realize Bryan and Krista are no longer behind us. Apparently the trail was just too boring for the Carlson clan, so they decided to add some excitement!

Actually it all came down to Bryan simply not paying attention to the actual width of the trail and he slid to the right. Poor Krista had to take the kids out the drivers side and was so embarrassed. Hey, at least your husband didn't sink the Jeep in the creek like mine did YEARS ago!!

There is one really hairy area on Kane Creek that always takes the most time. It's mountain on the right, big scary ledge on the left. It's the one area that actually scares me the most when Jeeping. Luckily the trail guide was pretty good and getting people over the obstacle and everyone came out safe.

Autumn was the QUIETEST 15 year old I've ever known! I'm pretty sure she just enjoyed being on vacation, away from regular life, and being pampered by her aunt and uncle! We took her a "Thank You" for all the babysitting she's done for us.

All showered up and looking good!
